Cannes Classics 2019: Alfonso Cuaron to Present ‘The Shining’ in 4K
This year’s Cannes Classics lineup has been announced, with one screening immediately catching the eye: Alfonso Cuaron presenting the remastered version of “The Shining.” The “Roma” filmmaker will be on hand to introduce Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic, which is in the program alongside “Easy Rider,” three films from Luis Bunuel, Lina Wertmuller’s “Seven Beauties,” two from Milos Forman, and many others.

昨年のカンヌはクリストファー・ノーランが監修した『2001年宇宙の旅』のアンレストア版が話題でしたが、今年は4K版『シャイニング』の上映が決定したようです。北米版かコンチネンタル版か言及がありませんが、おそらく143分の北米版ではないかと予想します。シネコンやIMAXでの上映やBD化も期待できますね。
